Biography
Eoghan O’Grady is Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Head of Department of Management Studies in the Faculty of Business at the Dublin Institute of Technology. In this capacity, he directs the largest course in terms of student numbers, teaching faculty and module choice in the entire Institute - the B.Sc. in Business & Management programme. He has represented DIT at several international conferences, and student recruitment fairs. In addition, he is a visiting lecturer in several universities including Ryerson University Toronto; State Economic University, Samara, Russian Federation; City University, New York; and IILM, New Delhi. He is a regular contributor to the print and broadcast media.
Guest lecture/workshop
Cultural Variance and Impact on Leadership Success.
This lecture will consider the impact of culture on leadership behaviours. There will be discussion and argument (!) on the attributes and behaviours of effective managers with focus on how leaders should adapt their styles to suit the prevailing culture (national and organisational). The lecture will include a self reflection exercise for all participants and will be supported by web and DVD material.
